Five Question Friday

 {I'm just a tad bit happy about this...}

Today I'm linking up to {Five Crooked Halos} Five Question Friday..

1. What's your favorite childhood snack that you still eat as an adult?
It's not really a "snack" technically...but Mac N' Cheese with cut up hot dogs. {if you've never heard of this/tried're probably thinking this sounds disgusting...if you have heard of this/tried're thinking you need to go make this right now! :)}

2. What food will you not eat the low fat version of?
Cheese!100% will not eat it. I guess props to Wisconsin for providing me with my cheese loyalty..haha.

3. What's your favorite way to cool off during the summer?
A delicious cool adult beverage and a beach or pool. Ahhh :)

4. What's your favorite summer read?
Whatever book I'm getting sucked into at that time...or magazines! I'm such a sucker for celebrity gossip and fashion mags. It's definitely one my big guilty pleasure!

5. What are you doing to stay cool in this awful heat?
Thankfully I work inside during the day...and then I get to go home to central air conditioning. I lived without central air for 22 years...and I have to's such a luxury to have! So ultimately I only have to endure the heat when I want to...which I do...because I love summer.

Join in the fun and link up to Five Question Friday if you want!
Well, I'm off to softball tonight...
the first game of the new league..wish us luck! :)

Girl Crush

Pin It
I officially have a new girl crush...
And her name is Kate Upton.

She became famous by her Sport's Illustrated cover last year...
and ever since then, she's been on fire!

I love her look and her curvaceous body.
She just exudes hot and sexy.

It's nice to see someone who's not stick skinny on the front of the hottest magazines around.
After all, men don't like women who look like 12 year old boys {it's sad because us women feel we need to look like that just because that's the "standard" in society}

So women... embrace your boobies, your hips, and your booty. It's what makes you a WOMAN!

Here's some photos of this phenomenally beautiful woman, Kate Upton...

Power Water

Pin It
I've mentioned previously with my frusteration with my body and fitness routine. I've always always been a very active person {involved in nearly every sport growing up}but for some reason or the other, over the past year... it all went to hell.
Ever since starting up softball in May though, I've gotten that health and fitness itch that I've been missing! I've been going on a lot more walk with the pups, going for runs in the morning before work {and sometimes after as well} and doing at least 300 ab workouts a day {I've always had a strong stomach and at one point could easily do over 1,000 sit-ups...I'll get there soon!}

I'm back to craving the feeling of pushing myself and feeling that "burn" after a workout!

 Now that I'm pushing myself again, I've been eating healthier and drinking a lot more water. I love water. It is by far my favorite drink. Throw in a lemon wedge {or two} and I'm seriously the happiest lady. But I've realized that I haven't been drinking as much water as I "should" have be. So when I stumbled upon the blog {Second Floor Living}, where she shared a post about this delcious sounding water... I was super pumped!
A Russian website {Sitnoseckano} shared this delicous recipe that I'll try out tonight!

Looks good doesn't it?

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated giner
  • 10-12 spearmint leaves
Mix all the ingredients in a jug and leave in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Quick and easy!

According to the website, the properities in the drink help you lose weight. I don't know if I necessarily believe that, but I love water and I love all the regardless, it sounds refreshing and delicious!

Wisdom Wednesday

Pin It
If you haven't already figured out, I love quotes.
Anything that I can find meaningful or inspirational really resonates with me.

Here's your weekly dose of Wisdom Wednesday... :)

Let me be frank here...we all can't always be kind, considerate, and nice. But somtimes, we need to take a step back and remember that, although cruelity may seem like the easier way out...rising above something and being kinder than you really feel will utlimaetly benefit you as a person.
It's true...even after over six years... :)
Story of my life. Someone drags me down...while someone lifts me up. It's the ever-painfully, yet beautiful way of life.
I've changed so much over the past five years. I've began to really come into my own and be confident in the person that I am. I'm always striving to be the best person I can be. Yes, I falter...of course I do...but I'm always aware of my behavior...and if I feel I've wronged myself, another person, or a situation...I want to fix it, make it right, and move past it as quickly as possible.
My whole life I've been an insecure and jealous person...and it drove me crazy! I didn't realize until I met Andrew that bieng insecure and jealous had just as much to do with the other person as it did with myself. Andrew makes me confident and secure. I know he's proud to have me as his woman...standing by his side. I have no reason to be jealous or insecure of other women, because I know I have zero reason to feel that way. It's such a peaceful realization.
I could never be with a man who didn't treat "inferiors" with the upmost respect and common desceny. I'm blessed that Andrew treats everyone he meets with such kindness...regardless of who they are (or aren't.)
 I want to be a loving wife, a loving mother, and a loving person.  I will die happy if that is my legacy.
Because of my struggles, suffering, and defeats...I have grown an immense amount of compassion for the human race. Even people who have done me wrong, I wish no ill-will. Every one of us has experienced tragedy, in some form or another...and it is my desire to remember that with each person I encounter in my life. We're all just doing the best we can afterall.

Fashion Crack

Pin It
Today, while perusing around on my Pintrest,
 I discovered what I have coined as FASHION CRACK.
 A clothing website so fabulous {and reasonably priced} that I'm seriously giddy!
It's called Sabo Skirt, a website based out of Australia.
I haven't been this excited about a fashion discovery in quite awhile.
I love almost every piece and can't wait to make my first purchase!

Here are a few of my favorite looks thus far...

The Little Things

Pin It
life is all about the little things.
the simple, in-the-moment memories...
that make life beautiful.

 it's as simple as laying in bed with my little family at night...
taking silly photos and just being us.

life isn't perfect...
not even close.
but we all need little reminders to remember how precious life is.

and this is my reminder... :)

two things: first, andrew made a very good point about the quality of these photos... the next iphone should have a front flash {yes, yes it should} and second, zo zo was too busy being passed out under the covers at the foot of the bed to be a part of this photo op {she has it so rough}
