My Fitness Challenge

Pin It
I've talked a bit about my desire to increase my exercise and healthy eating habits.
I've been eating healthier, increasing my ab workouts, and running outside in the mornings...

but...

I've always hated running...
It's just not my thing.
I'd rather play a sport {like the softball league I play every week}
or take a class {ie. yoga}...

So, I've been looking on {Pintrest} a lot recently and found a few workout inspirations that doesn't involve running. I also found a 7 Day Diet that I'll be starting tomorrow morning along with the workouts. Wish me luck!

Girl Crush

Pin It
I officially have a new girl crush...
And her name is Kate Upton.

She became famous by her Sport's Illustrated cover last year...
and ever since then, she's been on fire!

I love her look and her curvaceous body.
She just exudes hot and sexy.

It's nice to see someone who's not stick skinny on the front of the hottest magazines around.
After all, men don't like women who look like 12 year old boys {it's sad because us women feel we need to look like that just because that's the "standard" in society}

So women... embrace your boobies, your hips, and your booty. It's what makes you a WOMAN!

Here's some photos of this phenomenally beautiful woman, Kate Upton...

Power Water

I've mentioned previously with my frusteration with my body and fitness routine. I've always always been a very active person {involved in nearly every sport growing up}but for some reason or the other, over the past year... it all went to hell.
Ever since starting up softball in May though, I've gotten that health and fitness itch that I've been missing! I've been going on a lot more walk with the pups, going for runs in the morning before work {and sometimes after as well} and doing at least 300 ab workouts a day {I've always had a strong stomach and at one point could easily do over 1,000 sit-ups...I'll get there soon!}

I'm back to craving the feeling of pushing myself and feeling that "burn" after a workout!

 Now that I'm pushing myself again, I've been eating healthier and drinking a lot more water. I love water. It is by far my favorite drink. Throw in a lemon wedge {or two} and I'm seriously the happiest lady. But I've realized that I haven't been drinking as much water as I "should" have be. So when I stumbled upon the blog {Second Floor Living}, where she shared a post about this delcious sounding water... I was super pumped!
A Russian website {Sitnoseckano} shared this delicous recipe that I'll try out tonight!

Looks good doesn't it?

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated giner
  • 10-12 spearmint leaves
Mix all the ingredients in a jug and leave in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Quick and easy!

According to the website, the properities in the drink help you lose weight. I don't know if I necessarily believe that, but I love water and I love all the ingredients....so regardless, it sounds refreshing and delicious!

Shape Up

Pin It
Recently my friend told me about Lauren Conrad's website
which shares her Bikini Boot Camp Plan and I thought I should give it a shot!

I've been...well...lazy. The word lazy never was a word used in my vocabulary until about a year ago. For some reason I lost a lot of motivation to keep up on my fitness and eating right (I still overall eat pretty healthy but it's definitely taken a turn for the worse) And I'm sick of complaining about how I feel about myself but not doing anything about it.

 Andrew has recently started eating healthier and wants to lose some weight and just feel better overall. Yesterday when we were driving home from Wisconsin, I was bitching venting to Andrew about the way I look and how unhappy I am about the whole thing. So, since we both want to just be a little better version of ourselves, we decided, why not do it together. It's always harder to do it by yourself after all.

I also got a call about two weeks ago from my old model and talent agency that I was a part of when I first moved to the cities. My photos on the website are my headshots from when I was 18 so they are obviously outdated, so I was surprised when I got a call. Long story short, I guess a client wanted me for a photo shoot, and I would have been able to keep the photos for my own portfolio to update my old ones. Well insecure me turned it down because of how I feel. I told Andrew about this and of course he thought I was crazy...but he said maybe if I started it back up again, it would be a great confidence boost, and also a great motivation for me to stick with staying fit and eating healthy.

So here's to being happier in my own skin!
