Learn to find happiness in the every day, common things.
There are blessing out there, no matter how big or how small.

Sometimes in order to regain the feeling of peace,
we must remember that it's the common things in life that truly makes up our own happiness.
We mustn't ever forget that there's always always something to be happy about.

My Best Friend is Married!!

What a month of immense happiness, joy, (happy) tears, and love.
My best friend since the age of five married the love of her life last Saturday.

It was incredibly emotional for me,
witnessing someone who's been my other half nearly my entire life,
go from Miss. to Mrs.

I smiled a lot...
I laughed a lot....
and I cried a lot.....

There was so much love, so much joy, so much happiness...
What more could anyone ask for?
It was SUCH a beautiful and perfect day!

Samantha let us witness the first look. Such a beautiful moment :)
First look captured by their photographer. simply beautiful. {website on photo above}
The whole bridal party {matron of honor, co-maid of honors, bridesmaids, and junior bridesmaids} Amazing people!
The GORGEOUS bride with her girls :)
The matron of honor {far left}, co-maid of honor {in the middle back}, and myself {co-maid of honor} getting Samantha dressed. This brings tears to my eyes just looking at it! :)
The best friends ANYONE could ask for! How did I get so unbelievably blessed?? :)

7 Questions!

7 Questions again this week!
{Note: I'm a day late, yes. I started it yesterday but the day got away from me.}

This photo was taken at my best friend's Bachelorette Party in Minneapolis. This was us trekking down  flights of stairs from the roof top bar we were at. Heels + Stairs + Drinking = Hilarious and Disastrous.

1. Do you have any weird food combinations that you love?
Not really... It'll be interesting once I'm pregnant though, right?

2. Have you ever written a blog post, published it, then immediately deleted it?
Yes, I think once. But I mainly have a bunch of drafts that I never published in the first place.

3. What is a hair style you wish you could pull off, but would never be brave enough to try?
For the longest time growing up, I always said I would someday shave my head....for two reasons. One, being I thought it would be very liberating. And two, to let my hair grow new again. Never say never, but I highly doubt I'll ever do it.

4. Would you rather have to always use the sun to tell the time or directions by the stars?
The sun is "easier" to tell the time of the day, so it would be really cool to be able to follow directions by the stars.

5. What is a fall trend you are excited to try?

Maxi skirts with chunky sweaters.

6. Who is your style icon?
I really don't have one style icon, as I tend to find inspiration in many things. But I've always loved the styles of Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, Zoe Saldana, Kate Bosworth, Olivia Palermo, and Kristen Cavallari.

7. What's your favorite outdoor activity?

I love going on walks with my pups, playing softball and kickball, grilling out with friends...I could go on and on (I love the outdoors!)

Now, go link up yourself!
It's super fun I swear! I love this link up! :)

Remembering 9/11

I can't believe it's been 11 years since the devastating day of
September 11, 2001...
A day that will forever be remembered as one of the most tragic days to strike the United States.

Words tend to escape me when it comes to this horrific tragedy.
All I can do is send my love and prayers to the lost ones and their families of 9/11.

Life.

"There are some things you can’t understand yet. Your life will be great and continuously unfolding. It’s good you’ve worked hard to resolve childhood issues while in your twenties, but understand that what you resolve will need to be resolved again. And again. You will come to know things that can only be known with the wisdom of age and the grace of years. Most of those things will have to do with forgiveness.
You cannot convince people to love you. This is an absolute rule. No one will ever give you love because you want him or her to give it. Real loves moves freely in both directions. Don’t waste your time on anything else.
Most things will be okay eventually, but not everything will be. Sometimes you’ll put up a good fight and lose. Sometimes you’ll hold on really hard and realize there is no choice but to let go. Acceptance is a small, quiet room.
The useless days will add up to something. The shitty waitressing jobs. The hours writing in your journal. The long meandering walks. The hours reading poetry and story collections and novels and dead people’s diaries and wondering about sex and God and whether you should shave under your arms or not. These things are your becoming."-unknown

The Couple Who Plays Together, Stays Together

I'm such a believer in the saying,
"The couple who plays together, stays together."
because it's soooo important to want to have fun with your significant other!

I will be honest, Andrew and I have been lacking on this for a couple of reasons.
Reason number 1 being the fact that we've had only two weekends together in the last two months.
Sure, we've gone to dinner or grilled at our place,
but we haven't done anything exceptionally fun lately.

Andrew and I are going on 7 years {in January} and let's be honest,
sometimes it's hard to keep that fresh excitement there.
We both know we're committed, we're going to get married, have kids...
the whole deal.

I think it gets easy to fall into slumps, and forget to just have fun together.

So, on Thursday while we were working, Andrew texted me asking me to check out a Youtube video of an artist {aka a Techno/Electronic DJ type guy} Now, I am NOT a fan of techno. Andrew is. Sure, I love "house music" {David Guetta, Calvin Harris etc.} but real techno...no thank you!

My initial thought was,
HELL to the no.
But I stopped myself and realized that,
hey,
he wants to go...and heaven forbid it may just be,
FUN!

We went to Amon Tobin at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Minneapolis. It was more of a story through a light show...with techno music. We both thought it was an awesome concept, but we definitely got a little over-whelmed after an hour and a half. Regardless though, it was fun...and something different that I did for Andrew, because that's what love is all about. Being each other's other half even when you may or may not want to do what they want to do.

Classic car pic on the way to the show.
We walked from a friend's place. It was such a gorgeous night!
One of the sweet pics I got. And check out the video below if you want to experience insanity!

The same day Andrew asked about the show, I got an email from work telling me I won Twins Baseball tickets to Friday night's game! Of course Andrew was thrilled about this, but I was too! I really love baseball and love going to games in the new Target Field!

Thanks to my work, we got awesome seats!
See? Told you! I love it when I can see the players faces and be more part of the action!
Of course I had to have a brewski.
Me and my hot date :)

Relationships are a lot of work.
Sometimes it seems like it's too much work.
But at the end of the day,
when you decide you want to spend the rest of your life with this person,
you have to make room for the silly and fun times...
because that's what will get you through the tough times,
and make you appreciate the person standing next to you even more!

Now, go have some fun! :)
