What a month of immense happiness, joy, (happy) tears, and love.

My best friend since the age of five married the love of her life last Saturday.

It was incredibly emotional for me,

witnessing someone who's been my other half nearly my entire life,

go from Miss. to Mrs. 

I smiled a lot...

I laughed a lot....

and I cried a lot.....

There was so much love, so much joy, so much happiness...

What more could anyone ask for?

It was SUCH a beautiful and perfect day!

What an amazing, incredible, emotional, inspiring wedding....

my best friend is officially a wife!

You know those weddings where everything goes off without a hitch...

where everything couldn't be more beautiful or more magical...

Well, that was this wedding! 

If perfection were possible,

this was it.

Bellini Bar

I've been very absent on here recently. 

No excuses other than life has gotten in the way...

But that's life after all.

Last weekend was my best friend's Bridal Shower {more on that later}

and I made a Bellini Bar for her celebration.

It was the first time ever attempting the recipe,
 but I think everyone enjoyed them!

I used {Giada De Laurentiis's Bellini Bar Recipe}.

WHAT YOU NEED:

For this Bellini Bar, I used frozen blueberries, strawberries, and peaches...Target brand obviously.

You'll need 2 cups of sugar.. 

Boil the 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup water until sugar is completely dissolved. This turns into sugar syrup...

If you want to do a peach puree, you'll want to add 1 teaspoon of grated orange peel.

Now it's time to blend the frozen fruit with the simple syrup. {Follow the instructions from the above link for the right measurements.}

Final results {peach, strawberry, and blueberry purees...} Then just scoop a couple spoonfuls of whichever flavor you want in the bottom of a champagne flute. Then fill up with champagne...
and you are SET!

Wedding Season Is Upon Us

It's officially wedding season! 

I love everything about weddings...

the way the groom is so nervous right before his bride walks down the aisle,

but then gets the biggest smile on his face once he sees her...

I love the speeches, the first dance, and the dance with the parents...

I love that there's hundreds of people at one event to simply just,

celebrate love.

On Saturday we drove to Waterloo, Iowa to celebrate the wedding of one of Andrew's friend's from college. It was such a blast. We got to see a lot of college friends that we haven't seen in years! 

We ate, drank, and danced!

Love Is In The Air

Love is truly in the air right now. And it's a beautiful thing. My best friend since the age of five got engaged last year and the wedding date is quickly approaching! I remember being little girls and dreaming about someday falling in love...getting engaged...and then becoming a wife.

And 20 years later, here we are only a few short months away from watching her put on her Cinderella white wedding dress and walk down the aisle and become a wife! Watching Samantha get married means more to me than just my best friend getting married. It'll be the ending of one chapter and the beginning of the next, where she'll now have her husband as her other half.

Throughout the majority of my life, we've been each other's missing piece to the puzzle, each other's sisters and soul mates... and it's almost as if the torch is being passed.{I'm getting very emotional right now...whew} I've always been very protective of Samantha, because of her beautiful and ever-loving heart that I've never wanted to do anything more than to make sure she was happy.

And she is...with the man she will marry September 22nd, 2012. And I'll be standing by her side as co-maid of honor, balling my eyes out on one of the happiest days of my life...
