Ten Day You Challenge {Day 2: Two Songs}
Pin It
Today is day two of the Ten Day You Challenge: Two Songs. I love music so much that it was hard for me to choose just two. I thought it was best to share the two songs I love right now {I tend to listen to songs I love over and over and over again :)}
1. Green River Ordinance ~ Dancing Shoes
"In a world
That gets lost in making plans
Just be my woman
Yeah, and I will be your man..."
That gets lost in making plans
Just be my woman
Yeah, and I will be your man..."
I'm in love with this song right now. Anytime it comes on my XM, I turn it up and start singing along {I bet I give some people driving past me a real laugh}. It's such a sweet and loving song. If you haven't heard it before, you definitely have to give it a listen!
2. Jason Mraz ~ I Won't Give Up
"I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up"
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up"
I'm a sucker for love songs...and this one is phenomenal. This song is very raw and real and speaks the truth about love. I love that. Again, if you haven't heard this song...you gotta check it out!
What are YOUR two songs your loving right now? :)

Ten Day You Challenge {Day 1: One Picture of Yourself}
Pin It
I found this fun blog challenge from {A Crazy Walk on the Safe Side} and thought I'd join in!
Day 1: One picture of Yourself. So without further ado...
This photo is of me sans makeup and with my natural curl. I find it important to be content with who you are without all the millions of beauty products we have so conveniently available for us. Yes, I wear makeup, do my hair, and try to look as "nice" as I can....but I also know there's a fine line to enhancing your beauty versus completely changing it. I've always worn very neutral makeup with a nice golden eyeshadow and mascara...and no eyeliner, ever. Check out my post on my {10 favorite beauty products} to see what I use. I've always wanted to wear my makeup...not the other way around. I've known people throughout my life that look like completely different people without makeup. I personally don't want the same reaction about myself. I of course have insecurities sometimes, but when it comes to me with or without makeup on...it's still just me. I may as well get used to it, right?
Join in on the Ten Day You Challenge and stay tuned for day two through ten! :)

Your Other Half
Pin It
Andrew's away this weekend on a snowmobiling trip with his friends. I've always been a big believer that it's very important for relationships to have their "friend time." It's healthy and beneficial. But for some reason this weekend has been a little harder being away from him. Isn't it fascinating how you can miss someone that much more sometimes? Andrew truly is my other half and when he's gone, I feel that a part of me is gone too. He's my best friend and I'd do anything for that crazy kid.
I found this quote on {pintrest} that couldn't be more true about relationships. After over 6 years, we're not always going to be in the "honeymoon phase." Relationships take a lot of work. But I know you have to make a choice that no matter how hard it gets at times...that neither one of you will give up. Because just like everything in life, you have to ride out the hard times to get to the good times. And the funny thing about true love...it leaves you almost no choice in the matter. Because you can never give up, because at the end of the day...you can't imagine your life without that person.
{I apologize for the mushy post...sometimes I get super corny :)}
Unrealistic Wishes
Pin It
I got inspiration to do a post on unrealistic wishes from {Aunie Sauce}. We all have them in some shape or form. Some wishes may be possible, but not in this moment, while others are entirely impossible. Here are some of my unrealistic wishes...enjoy.
I Wish
1. My dogs could talk sometimes. I'd love to hear what they'd have to say. But then again, what would they repeat if they could? Mmmmmm....
2. That money wasn't an issue...ever. Enough said.
3. I owned houses all around the world and could travel to them whenever I wanted. Greece, Paris, Ireland, Australia, Bora Bora, Bali....that would be simply delightful.
4. I could be paid to be a full time blogger. Pretty fun gig, wouldn't it?
5. I could be a mother right now. Obviously this is my "dreamer" part of me. Although I want to be a mother right now, it's not the right time realistically. A couple more years :)
6. That no matter what I ate, I didn't gain any weight. Again, enough said.
7. Discrimination didn't exist. That people were judged based on their character, rather than the color of their skin, sexual orientation and so on.
8. That I could witness a miracle everyday. Even if it was small miracles. Life would seem a lot more beautiful.
9. That I could sing really really good. I can carry a tune, but I'm talking Whitney Houston, Adele, Beyonce good.
10. That I could take in any child and animal without a good home and care for them. No child or animal should ever feel neglected. It breaks my heart to witness such cruelty.
"If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made from another world." C.S. Lewis
What are YOUR unrealistic expectations? :)

Dreamers and Realists
Pin It
Last night I received an email from my brother and sister-in-law. It was a quote from one of my favorite TV shows {Modern Family} The quote read....
"There are dreamers and there are realists in this world. You'd think the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists...but more often than not the opposite is true. You see, the dreamers need the realists to keep them from soaring too close to the sun...and the realists, well, without the dreamers...they might never get off the ground."
This got me thinking about these dreamers and realists. Now, if you've read my blog at all, you've figured out that I'm very much a dreamer. I love being a dreamer...always believing anything is possible. The problem is, people who are dreamers, we don't always think through things. I'm someone you might call irrational at times...even impulsive. While my imagination may take me to some profound place...the reality of it all might not be quite possible.
This is where these realists come in. Realists are the people you recognize as being...well...realistic. They tend to err on the side of caution, making sure that their actions won't cause any unnecessary consequences. Us dreamer, we think...what consequences? If I can dream it, it can happen, right?
After thinking more into this, I began to see how true this was about my relationship. I, being the dreamer...and Andrew, being the realist. We both have important roles that we bring into our relationship. You would think that a dreamer would find a dreamer and a realist would find a realist...but Phil Dunphy couldn't have said it better. We need each other to balance each other out.
I've come to realize you may not always understand or relate to why a person is the way they are, but you can learn to compromise and find a happy medium. After all, relationships are all about balancing each other out and equally coming to an agreement....even if you have to be a little flexible.
Because without each other...you'd be "soaring too close to the sun" or you "might not ever get off the ground....."
What do YOU consider yourself? A dreamer or realist?
