The Couple Who Plays Together, Stays Together

I'm such a believer in the saying, 

"The couple who plays together, stays together."

because it's soooo important to want to have fun with your significant other!

I will be honest, Andrew and I have been lacking on this for a couple of reasons.

Reason number 1 being the fact that we've had only two weekends together in the last two months.

Sure, we've gone to dinner or grilled at our place,

but we haven't done anything exceptionally fun lately.

Andrew and I are going on 7 years {in January} and let's be honest,

sometimes it's hard to keep that fresh excitement there.

We both know we're committed, we're going to get married, have kids...

the whole deal.

I think it gets easy to fall into slumps, and forget to just have fun together.

So, on Thursday while we were working, Andrew texted me asking me to check out a Youtube video of an artist {aka a Techno/Electronic DJ type guy} Now, I am NOT a fan of techno. Andrew is. Sure, I love "house music" {David Guetta, Calvin Harris etc.} but real techno...no thank you! 

My initial thought was, 

HELL to the no.

But I stopped myself and realized that,

hey,

he wants to go...and heaven forbid it may just be,

FUN!

We went to Amon Tobin at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Minneapolis. It was more of a story through a light show...with techno music. We both thought it was an awesome concept, but we definitely got a little over-whelmed after an hour and a half. Regardless though, it was fun...and something different that I did for Andrew, because that's what love is all about. Being each other's other half even when you may or may not want to do what they want to do.

The same day Andrew asked about the show, I got an email from work telling me I won Twins Baseball tickets to Friday night's game! Of course Andrew was thrilled about this, but I was too! I really love baseball and love going to games in the new Target Field! 

Thanks to my work, we got awesome seats!

See? Told you! I love it when I can see the players faces and be more part of the action!

Of course I had to have a brewski.

Relationships are a lot of work.
Sometimes it seems like it's too much work.
But at the end of the day,
when you decide you want to spend the rest of your life with this person,
you have to make room for the silly and fun times...
because that's what will get you through the tough times,
and make you appreciate the person standing next to you even more!

What a whirl-wind it has been! 

I just got back from Miami for yet another Bachelorette Party...

I feel like such a seasoned traveler at this point.

Vegas two weeks ago...

Miami this past weekend.

Whew...

But I survived!

Miami was a BLAST {obviously}

We stayed at an incredible place at the Fontainebleau Miami...

Got delicious free dinners and free VIP Bottle Service...

Amazing views, palm trees, the ocean...

I could go on and on!

Of course I had to do some more shopping for Miami. Whoops!

I absolutely LOVE the ocean. Even though I've never lived near one, it feels like 'home'. There's something so calming and peaceful about it...

We did some park time, grilling out, and a lot of cuddling on the couch.

This month will be so incredible,

witnessing my best friend since the age of five,

go from a Miss to a Mrs.

My funny photo consists of my pup Bella, who is the comedian of the family. She is seriously human. She cracks me up every day with her awesomely awkward and hilarious faces and poses!

So, now to 7 Questions...

1. Bold or Understated?
It really depends on what we're talking about here. Fashionably speaking, I think I'm a mix of both. I love wearing bold and over-the-top outfits that make people stop and think, but at the same time, I'm all about the classic look. So, I'm sticking with both!

2. You have to survive alone in the wild and you only get to take one thing with you. Your choices are: A pocket knife, a water bottle, or a book. Which do you choose and why?
A pocket knife, because hopefully I can find myself water...and the knife will definitely come in handy for multiple reasons {I have watched Man Vs. Wild on the Discovery channel, duh}

3. Thirty two cows, seven eight chickens, how many didn't?
I have NO idea what the hell this is...fail?

4. Would you rather die doing one legendary act of service or do small acts of kindness that may go unnoticed every day?
100% small acts of kindness. It's all about the little things, right?

5. Happiness is ________. (one word; fill in the blank)
simplicity {it was the first word that came to mind}

6. Can you laugh without smiling?
Uh, sure...can't everyone? But I'm assuming I look super creepy.

7. Do you pop your knuckles?
Yes, all the time. In fact, I just did...

Sin City {Bachelorette Edition}

I mentioned last week that I was heading to Vegas for my best friend's Bachelorette party over the weekend... {note: I have two best friend's getting married back to back weekends in September...and I'm the maid of honor in both...so don't be confused by how many bridal/bachelorette parties I seem to be attending! :)} 

I've been to Vegas one time before {last year for a good friend's Bachelorette party} but this year we tried to tackle TWO days and THREE nights. #fail {at least on my end} I made all but one night on Friday where I slept off a horrible hangover. It's Vegas though, right?

We enjoyed a delicious dinner our first night we were there and then enjoyed some cocktails.
